Weekly Rewind: August 5-10

Well, I can finally say (after hitting the "publish" button...) that I am caught up on posting pictures! Whew! I take too many pictures... Nah, I don't think so!

{MONDAY}

Chilling in the pool in the shade

  Awesome little Frisbee throwers! Can I just say how excited I am!!!??? I can't wait to take them to play disc golf!! I wish it said my name, Shaun's, and the others whole helped in the making of this, but here is the course we designed! So cool, huh? Eh, at least I have all the paperwork from it still ;)

 Ok, you have to look very closely to see...but Andrew is chasing this dragonfly that keeps coming to our yard. He's pretty big, too! It is just to the right of his head.

{TUESDAY}

Spelling their names with Super Why! Alpha-Bits Cereal at breakfast!

{WEDNESDAY}

Zoo Day!!

 Letting Mommy rest make a menu plan/grocery list while watching "The Cat in the Hat"

Making a puzzle while I make dinner

{THURSDAY}

 Putting together Jason's lunch one morning. I put a surprise message in his lunchbox! Gotta love it!

 Look where I found the smaller one during nap time - love him!

 Another cute moment captured while making dinner

{FRIDAY}

 UGH! Laundry day... At least I have some super cute helper boys who think that making a laundry train is the best thing ever. :)

 2 boys, a bug, and a dump truck. Sweet.

 Of course the outside play didn't last long...rain! But, we did see a great surprise out the window afterwards! Love rainbows!

 They were pretty impressed, too!

 Once the rainbow faded away, they had to get back to their puzzle making. This puzzle (similar) is so LONG!

{SATURDAY}

Jason's company picnic was Saturday. It was a lot of fun! The boys thought that the boat was the coolest thing there (except the great food!). Thanks, again, Mr. Ken, for letting the boys hang out in your boat and giving them a ride! They LOVED it!!!

 Checking out the boat

 So pretty!

 Headed out for a little ride (and, yes...they had their puddle jumpers on at this point)

 I enjoyed the bits of sunshine on the dock as they headed out.

What a great week!! Hope y'all had a good one, too!

Flashback: July 28th- August 2nd

Flashback. Ha! Yep, 2 weeks late... Any guesses that this growing little man (and his brothers!) are wearing me out? Speaking of that - how about a baby update?

Welcome to the 3rd TRIMESTER! Woot! That's right, people. We are coming to an end! However, coming to an end means that this mama is tired and cranky and needs Sonic slushies around the clock. Why do they not have a delivery service for that? They should...does Sonic even understand the crazy amounts of money they would make from just us prego mamas? Just sayin'...

Also, the lamest part of this lovely entrance into the third trimester means that I get to drink some super yummy glucose test crap. Hmm...maybe we could put some Sonic ice in there...make it better? Ok, fine. Not that it is a terrible horrible thing to drink. It just take a chunk out of the day that I need to take a nice long nap get things done around the house and such. I mean, really? There should be a better way of doing this whole thing. Ugh...

But, the good news of this is, again, that there is an end. And, luckily, for me...this guy seems to want to beat his brothers in birth weight. So that means I'm headed for another C-section. And, you know? That is FINE. WITH. ME. No complaints here. Andrew almost literally ripped me a new one (you know what I'm talking about, mamas!) And...well, I don't really need that again. Thanks. But the wonderfully thing about this is that everything is all PLANNED! I know EXACTLY what is going to happen and when and blah, blah, blah. Anyone who personally knows me knows that I do not do well with the unknown.

Anyway, enough about Mr. Austin for now. Though, I could talk about that little guy ALL day long :) But, before we get to the fun we had, here is a picture of his room-in-progress! YAY!

 I know...I just changed around the furniture and brought in my Cracker Barrel rocking chair that was in our room. And, yes...it is STILL not painted. Can someone please  let God know that we are good with the rain and we really don't need anymore of it for a bit? Thanks...

Now...on to the pictures from the fun we had about 2 weeks ago!

 {SUNDAY}
 Jason teaching the boys how to play checkers while I was making dinner

{MONDAY}

 Not a very good picture, but Alex would only do this once and that was all... He always loved getting into boxes LOL

{TUESDAY}

 Playing in the pool one sunny afternoon

 Alex is all kinds of chill HAHA! What a little stud. I've said it before, I know... But, I am seriously going to need a rather large "flyswatter" to beat those girls away one day ;)

{WEDNESDAY}

 Alex got to feel Austin kick FINALLY! He was tired and that was the ONLY reason he was sitting so still that evening. I'm glad that Austin took advantage of that moment. It was so sweet.

{THURSDAY}

 Burning the rest of the week's energy (with a backwards crawling race) before our packing extravaganza. Yes, we headed to the beach over the weekend! Pictures of that will be up in just a bit - promise!!

Wrapping Up May - Welcome Summer!

As much as we were hoping Summer would get here, but WOW! May decided to finish up in quite a hurry! We did enjoy a lot of time out in the sun, a day (or two) at the zoo, fun at the library, and just enjoying each other. June is just around the corner and is going to be a VERY busy month!

Filling his dump truck with water for his "quarry" in that back corner

We are at the zoo, no joke, every single week it seems (unless it is cold and rainy), but this is the first time they needed a map LOL. What funny boys...

The reptile/amphibian house is one of their favorite spots

But this time we actually spotted the toad that lived with the snakes - he is never out!!

Train ride past the giraffes

We headed to library to grab the boys' reading bags for joining the summer reading program. And, wow! They got the coolest bags, too. I made sure to sign up the morning that the online sign-up was live. Glad I did! They have the cutest canvas bags for all of their books. So, mamas - sign up first to get the awesome freebies for our kids. :) I'll get a pic of the bags posted soon. For now, you get to see them so excited about their gummy "book worms" - Love it!

With all of the fun, I am definitely making sure that some school working is still taken care of each day. Andrew has to do 3 pages from a workbook every day - we have quite a few to choose from, too. As long as he is happy doing it, I am happy! We have to keep the school work going. Just because it is summer doesn't mean that the learning stops. :)

Ah, here is where we get to take a breath of relaxation... June is here and it is hitting us hard! It is a lot of fun, but we can't believe it is already 1/2 way over (almost)!

Hope y'all are having a fantastic summer, too!!

Memorial Day Weekend!

What a fun weekend!! We always love it when Daddy gets an extra day off to play!! We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Here is a look back at our fun in the sun :)

Pool time!!

Chillin'

My little water baby - he could play in it ALL DAY. I have high hopes for this one in becoming my swimmer!!

Splashin'

Watermelon time!! Our FANTASTIC neighbors are...well, just that! FANTASTIC!! They shared their watermelon with us. And, oh, yes, it was a great one! The boys loved it so much that we had to get one when we we to the grocery store the next day. Actually, the baby loves it so much (it seems anyway) that I need to get another one now ;) YUM!

Taking a break from the sun  by playing with playdoh! Andrew made this blue snowman. Alex was busy making snakes and bugs or something. Cuties.

I wish I took a picture of the drink, but I got sidetracked in the process of enjoying my Pineapple Planter's Punch! Next time I make this for Memorial Day, I plan on adding rum for an extra treat. But, for us mamas to be THIS DRINK is perfection in a glass! A perfect summery concoction! Click over to get the details on the recipe.

Ah, a Memorial Day dinner! Homemade BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches, homemade cornbread, and baked beans - yes, oh, yes!

CUPCAKES!!! Funfetti cupcakes :)

YUM!!

Enjoying a yummy cupcake and playing with his topper (which, apparently is a "Captain America" symbol...honestly, I didn't catch that until I just posted this. I guess that is because I am more of a DC Comics gal than Marvel...)

This baked bean and icing face says it all...

What a great weekend!!

House Happenings

Well, this was quite the week at the House!! Alex is learning to ride his trike, Andrew is done with school and moving up to PreK-3 in the Fall, and SUMMER is here! Eh, calendar schmalendar... Summer is here when school is out. That is just how it goes. Though, I'm sure you'll hear me say, "What?! School?! The summer isn't over until the calendar says so!" Gotta love it. Anyway, we are gearing up for a super fun Memorial Day Weekend. Hope yours is a great one!!

{Sunday}
 Check it out! Alex has a set of wheels! His favorite color, too - Green!! And, the best part? $20 on Craigslist. I saw this exact one at the toys store. They wanted $160 for it...um, what?! Are you kidding me? I don't think so. Andrew has been using his for about a year now and he is ready for big boy bike. Maybe for his birthday? We will see. He is very particular about which one he wants. LOL Boys and their toys, right? Anyway, $160 is just ridiculous for the amount of time that he is going to use it. And, he loves it. Just look at that face!!

{Monday}

 Check it out. We are ready for the summer with a book full of awesome coupons. Woot! I remember having to sell these kinds of books for school fundraisers (which I hated - but, now that I'm a mom...where are the kids selling these? I had to get mine online. At least it was 1/2 off because 1/2 of the year is gone now). These are based on city - so grab one!

{Tuesday}
 Last day of school!!!
Top: Breakfast surprise! I left each of them a Batman toy at their spot on the table. Alex will get to start school next year, so he got one, too.
Middle: Ice Cream treat after school!!
Bottom: Hot dog sprinkler party for dinner!

Mud-putt golf, anyone?

Sprinkler fun before dinner

 While Andrew was at school, Alex and I ran the rest of our errands, got lunch, and headed to the park. He LOVED climbing all over the "big big big" rocks.

{Wednesday}
We played outside all morning and had our lunch outside. There was a so-called "chance" of rain for the afternoon, so we picked up and headed indoors the rest of the day. Where was that rain? Never came. Interesting...

 While the boys were taking a nap and having quiet time, I worked on Andrew's photo book of all his projects he did this year. If you are interested in seeing it, let me know. I will share the link with family and close friends only, however.

 {Thursday}
Another day of playing in the sunshine!
{Friday}
Hello, Memorial Day Weekend sales! We headed out to the outlets today. Check out Alex's favorite purchase - new sunglasses!

 You know, cuz his future's so bright! ;)

 Daddy came home early as we were just getting ready to go outside. And, yep. ALL of us were trying to get that rock out. Still. I swear...the boys have been working on getting that boulder out (where Jason is digging) for about 1 year or so now. It's pretty big...I don't know if they will actually get it out before we end up moving. Too funny!

After dinner treat? Frozen GoGurts!! Yeah!!

Time to get ready for the weekend!! We hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day!!
