Weekend Goodies

Welcome back FABULOUS weather! We started off our weekend Friday afternoon having lunch and playing in the wonderfully warm sunshine. Yes, We started off with jackets on, but they did come off as the sun continued to shine down on our backyard. So nice!

Digging for gold. LOL Jason and the boys have been watching "Gold Rush" on the Discovery Channel and are a tad bit obsessed. It is cute, though ;)

When it wasn't time to dig for gold, it was time to hit the golf course. Hmmm, maybe I should have a post on "Retirement through a Toddler's Eyes"

While Andrew was busy playing golf (Alex had to go in for a nap), I continued reading through this great book. I haven't had this many sticky notes in a book since college. It is SO good. I've already done a handful of Tami's ideas and WOW. Things have been running much smoother here. I'll have a post on this soon.

Of course, after a while, Andy was worn out, so it was time to go in for a "tiny nap"

I'm not sure what happened with my little man, but Andy ended up spending Saturday night on our bathroom floor... Poor guy. We had a good evening up until our movie was over (every Saturday night we have pizza movie night). So not sure...he is better now. Just has a mild fever. Weird, right?

After a lot of rest for me and the boys, we headed back outside for some good ol' vitamin D. This time it was time for Alex and Daddy to hit the "course."

Ahhh, what a perfect weekend (almost...poor Andy. Get better, baby)!

I ran across a few things online that I thought I'd share:

For my fellow Catholic readers: Cracks. Me. Up. Now, if only I could find one that said something about "consubstantial" - that's the one I always mess up. It just doesn't roll off the tongue very easy, ya know?

For my girls that gotta have their coffee in the morning before the day begins, I bring you "The Coffee Song" by Ralph's World. I heard on one of the kid's music stations in the car! Awesome!!

 Shirts for Ethiopia!!
A friend's sister is working hard on raising money for a mission trip to Ethiopia. She is making the cutest shirts and the one above is Andy's shirt for St. Patrick's Day!! Cute, huh? If you need some cute shirts for your kids, why not help out a girl go on a mission trip at the same time? Click here to check out story, see her designs and find out more on how to help.

 Compassion and Communion
This was started by a student at the local Catholic high school as a way to help families in need as they prepare to celebrate their child's First Communion. Ways you can help out are by donating clothing items such as: boys suits. ties, girls' dresses, veils, etc. Click here to find out more about how you can help out a family in need during a very important milestone in a child's Catholic faith.

Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful

But, we went out anyway! Being cooped up gets to you after a while. It was chilly, but not all that bad last week. Still too cold for me... But, apparently, it was good golfing weather!

 Teeing up

 Waiting for his turn

Moved to another "hole" which they called "another golf course"

Packing up to get to the next one :) I love how they use their cozy coupe as the golf cart

 Off they go!

 Celebration moves

 Time to head home

Alex told me to take a picture of the "a pane"

Andrew picked a flower for me :) Thanks, sweetie!!

Tennessee - Day 3

Note: Click here to see day 1 and day 2 :)

Ready for this? I went golfing! Ok, that may not sound exciting, unless you know me. Basically, I learned how to play when I was in middle school and that's all she wrote. Then I met Jason and, well, he's pretty much amazing. He played for his college team. Yes, he could very well make it pro, if he wanted to. I really was falling in love with this guy and I begged my dad for a set of golf clubs...this being YEARS after taking lessons. Well, I got the clubs and went ONE TIME with him while dating. Almost 5 years later, I've been twice (including this time) since being married. LOL. So, yes, this is exciting for me. It was a lot of fun and I am really hoping to go again with him :)

Great day for golfing - good weather (though we were all wondering if it was going to rain - Mark and Justin came along, too)

 My hubby :)

 Pretty views

 Another beautiful view :)

WOW

Yes, I really did play. LOL It does look like I just took pictures of the views. But, they were pretty amazing. There was this one hole that was pretty short, but there was a water hazard before the green. BOO. I do not like those or those stinky sand traps. No thank you. Anyway, I did NOT want to lose my ball. So, I SMASHED it all the way PAST the green. HA! I only lost my ball to water 1 time on another hole and to the sand on a different one. However, my hubby is the sweetest and I didn't have to follow the rules exactly. Which is probably a good thing...otherwise we would still be there. And, he is so cute, too! On the holes where I did terrible and took like 10 shots...ugh...instead of writing the number down he gave me a HEART! LOVE HIM!!

Oooh! Look at my fancy-schmacy golf glove, too!! Thanks, Sarah.

After we headed back and let the boys take a nap, we hung out some more. The big kids grown-ups played some cribbage while dinner was being made. And, Andrew and Alex chilled out with Justin trying to get at his laptop. LOL

Another fun day in the mountains! Get ready to see what Jason, the boys and I did on the 5th day! No, I didn't skip a day - day 4 the buys played a real game of golf ;) I do have some pics to share from day 4. Stay tuned!

Awesome Weather

Friday afternoon, Andrew asked to play outside. Can I just say I was so happy to put on a sweatshirt?! Yet, the same weekend, I complained about "freezing to death." I live in the South for a reason, people. Sun, sweet tea, and air condition. I don't see anything about being cold in there...

Anyway! We went outside and Alex loved watching his brother play golf and playing with the grass. Andrew had a blast playing golf. He was soooo cute! I am happy to report that I did get a video! :)

Click here if you have trouble viewing.

I got a bunch of great pics, too. The weather really was nice... And, as long as my little men are smiling and happy, I don't care about anything else :)

Rolling after watching an airplane in the sky.

Getting ready to play.

Swing!

Look at that kid! Olympic Swimmer or Golfer...both would be great ;)

Cheesin' it before another swing.

Looking past me to watch his brother run by.

Walking just like his Daddy when he plays golf.

Sneak attack from Daddy when he got home from work!

Mini Trip - Day 1

We headed out to Villa Rica, just outside of Atlanta, this past weekend for a mini trip to visit his parents. Andy and Alex played and played with their grandparents while Jason and I did a lot of thing together without the kids which was fantastic! It was nice to just be us two again for a bit :) I took about a million pictures, too. HA!

Heading out with a car packed so strategically that I felt as if one thing moved out of place, the car would burst! LOL

Mr Alex enjoying the sky and his hands :)

Uh-oh... WALL-E is over. We are almost there, sir.

Well, he may have calmed down, but he is very upset with me not starting the movie over...

When we got there, our angry little men were fed and then went down for naps. Yep, no one wanted to sleep on the way... Anyway, Jason, his dad, and I went around the place we were staying at, Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Plantation, to check out what all there was to do and see. They had a nice lake where could rent boats and a super busy "beach" (I'm a Floridian at heart...if it is not a gulf or ocean, it's not a beach). We found the golf course, too. There were doing some maintenance to the greens, but we still decided to play. Especially since I was going to tear up the course trying to hit the ball play. LOL. Jason and Mark both said that I actually didn't do all that bad for my first time in a long time playing. I took lessons when I lived in Georgia, so I remembered some of the things. Then, I got Jason to go out with me teach me how to play when I first met him. So, I have played...I'm just horrible.

BUT, I DID BIRDIE A HOLE! (I don't even know if that is how you say that...I know that I shot one under on that hole...) So, maybe I am not that terrible! I really had fun playing with Jason! It was just like when we were dating again! We talked about playing golf together more often, too. Yay!

 My Super Hot Golfer :)

Good times, but it was a hot afternoon. Good thing we had a nice breeze.
More pics to come...plenty more! :D
