Sometimes Wii Win - Sometimes Wii Lose

It is entirely TOO COLD outside. We seriously cannot wait for the amazing weather to return...

In the meantime, we are running out of things to do, games to place, and places to go. So, it is time. Time for the Wii.

Note: There are 2 videos at the end. If you cannot see them you may need to click through to the blog post. Enjoy!

Andrew LOVES playing Frisbee Dog! He's getting better at it!!

No. Austin is not actually playing the Wii. He has a Wii Candy Dispenser Remote that Rachel and I found at Toys R Us ages ago. Need one for your little Wii player so they don't feel left out? Click here. He is pretty cute "playing" along, though! Andrew would make his guy do something and Austin thought it was him LOL So cute and so funny! He's very serious about it!

Alex's Quiet Win

So, how are y'all fighting the never-ending Cabin Fever?? I need some more ideas... Or a new Wii game for preschoolers.

SNOW DAY!!

Or at least a few hours!

We had snow about 2 weeks ago here and it was fabulous! We weren't too sure it was coming until just before lunchtime. I had already taken Andy to school and was running some errands before getting that possible call to pick him up early. But, all was fine and school went on. So, Alex and I met up with Jason for lunch. That is when it started coming down! It was crazy. HUGE flakes! So much fun! Alex thought it was the coolest thing ever. And, we couldn't wait to get Andy from school so we could go play in it. When I went to go get him at pick-up time, the kids in his class saw my jacket and their sweet little faces lit up!! "Andrew's mommy has snow on her jacket!!"Of course, on my way home, I had to get a pic of church in the snow! It was just too pretty!!

Gotta love your home away from home : )

And speaking of home...the snow was starting to stick the further north we drove! I actually stopped on the road to take a pic of the woods. It was beautiful! How could I not?

After being home for about 45 minutes my tire tracks were already gone! So pretty!!

Even the bushes (which I need to trim up when I'm not freezing to death...) looked pretty!

The boys were yelling from the kitchen to stop taking pictures and get our snow stuff on. LOL They were SO excited!

Hill behind our house :) See, even the busted up tree is pretty...ok, not so much.

Alex (left) wasn't too sure what to do with this stuff. This was his first time in the snow (2nd, if you count him being in my tummy LOL). Andrew, on the other hand, ran out in a split second and was giggling the whole time. Too funny! (Here are pics from 2011s snow fun - day 1, day 2 and another time - I thought we had snow last year, but I guess not!)

I showed Andy how to make a snow man and he took care of the rest of it. He loved making his own snowman.

He did a pretty good job, too!

Alex quickly got used to the snow...and started a snowball fight! Can you believe it?! He is NOT helping Andy put snow in the truck. He just threw a chunk at him LOL!!!

Watch out, Alex! Looks like you are gonna get it!

Here they are cracking up at each other. Alex got one in the face and Andy told him, "Alex, it is snow! It doesn't hurt!" Then, he threw snow at himself - which made Alex laugh. Gotta love brothers!

Here they go again. After this one, they decided to get me...eek!

We had a pretty fabulous afternoon in the snow. But, now, it is time to say, "Goodbye!"
Alex waves to the snowman before the melting begins...

 And, here comes the sun!!

The snow may have melted quite a bit, but this was the late afternoon. The temp dropped again making the roads very unsafe. Jason went in later the next morning. And, which by the looks of the pic below...others should have taken notes in science class... What does melted snow (ahem..water) turn into when it freezes???? Ice. Not fun. Very dangerous.

Really, guys? Really?
Yes, those are all the accidents...and that was just in the morning.
Apparently, overnight, some truck jack-knifed causing one of the interstates to shut down for an insane amount of time...like 10 hours. Seriously. I swear that is what they said. I could be wrong. But, wow! If I were still working, you better believe I would be going in when the roads are safer. My family is much more important than that. Just sayin'

So, anyone here get snow? And, yankees....I can hear you laughing... Three inches isn't a lot, but it was more than enough for me!

Bit of a December Recap {Around Christmas]

Man, am I behind....it's already next year! Don't fret. I am going to go through and edit the pics from Christmas and our P'cola trip very soon. For now, let's take a look at what was going on around the Christmas season, shall we?

Doing a little bit of painting. How cool are these paint papers? The paint is already on the paper...just add water! Thanks, Nana!

Working on a puzzle during "quiet time" before Alex wake up from his long winter's snooze.

One of our many mornings of Christmas cartoons - complete with cheerios and milk for them and coffees for Mommy and Daddy :)

Another one of our "quiet times" before Alex is up. Andy LOVES mazes!!

One day at Target, the boys found their favorite people... "Sticker Man" He is one of the managers at our Target and he LOVED that the boys called him "Sticker Man." So he gave them about 500 stickers that say something like "thanks for buckling up" or "safe shopping" -- something like that. Anyway, they LOVED that and had a BLAST with them all the way home and for a good while the rest of the day. Gotta love Target!

FINALLY got a picture of these cuties with the Christmas tree in their sorta matching pajamas! :D One happy mama!!

Being silly with the camera phone

A Christmas story before bed - so sweet!

Playtime at Chick-Fil-A after breakfast! Gotta beat those big school kids so we went early! :)

One of our many evening of Christmas cartoons before dinner - this is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and the Winter Wizard guy is on the screen.

Christmas cookies for Santa - YUM!!

Hope your December was fabulous!!

Botanical Gardens

What gorgeous weather we are having this week (minus the rain that claims to be coming later this week...)!! A few week ago we had some great weather, too. It was a perfect day to get out those pre-Christmas sillies. What better place than running around at the Botanical Gardens?!

We grabbed lunch and brought it to the gardens. When Andy was done he got up to play in the columns. He collected as many acorns as possible while Alex was finishing up.

We walked along a lot of paths and found some new things along the way, like this iron scrap sculpture.

Andy said this was the biggest Christmas in the world :)

Looking out from the bridge at all the rocks.

Another "Christmas tree" - Andy said it needed those "sprinkle balls" (he calls the glittered ornaments sprinkle balls)

We walked over a few bridges in the Japanese Gardens. Alex like the red one - it's my favorite, too.

They loved that there were "secret paths" all over the place!

 The King of the Gardens!

Clockwise from top left: 1) Alex found a helicopter, 2) Taking a wagon ride down another path, 3) Andy thought this rock was cool because it has a face, and 4) Collecting acorns.

Walking down the bridge again. We walked ALL over this place...twice!!

"Land 'ho!!" yells Capt. Andrew Sillypants :)

Such a fabulous day. We are definitely heading out here again very soon!!

Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful

But, we went out anyway! Being cooped up gets to you after a while. It was chilly, but not all that bad last week. Still too cold for me... But, apparently, it was good golfing weather!

 Teeing up

 Waiting for his turn

Moved to another "hole" which they called "another golf course"

Packing up to get to the next one :) I love how they use their cozy coupe as the golf cart

 Off they go!

 Celebration moves

 Time to head home

Alex told me to take a picture of the "a pane"

Andrew picked a flower for me :) Thanks, sweetie!!
