Tennessee - Day 3

Note: Click here to see day 1 and day 2 :)

Ready for this? I went golfing! Ok, that may not sound exciting, unless you know me. Basically, I learned how to play when I was in middle school and that's all she wrote. Then I met Jason and, well, he's pretty much amazing. He played for his college team. Yes, he could very well make it pro, if he wanted to. I really was falling in love with this guy and I begged my dad for a set of golf clubs...this being YEARS after taking lessons. Well, I got the clubs and went ONE TIME with him while dating. Almost 5 years later, I've been twice (including this time) since being married. LOL. So, yes, this is exciting for me. It was a lot of fun and I am really hoping to go again with him :)

Great day for golfing - good weather (though we were all wondering if it was going to rain - Mark and Justin came along, too)

 My hubby :)

 Pretty views

 Another beautiful view :)

WOW

Yes, I really did play. LOL It does look like I just took pictures of the views. But, they were pretty amazing. There was this one hole that was pretty short, but there was a water hazard before the green. BOO. I do not like those or those stinky sand traps. No thank you. Anyway, I did NOT want to lose my ball. So, I SMASHED it all the way PAST the green. HA! I only lost my ball to water 1 time on another hole and to the sand on a different one. However, my hubby is the sweetest and I didn't have to follow the rules exactly. Which is probably a good thing...otherwise we would still be there. And, he is so cute, too! On the holes where I did terrible and took like 10 shots...ugh...instead of writing the number down he gave me a HEART! LOVE HIM!!

Oooh! Look at my fancy-schmacy golf glove, too!! Thanks, Sarah.

After we headed back and let the boys take a nap, we hung out some more. The big kids grown-ups played some cribbage while dinner was being made. And, Andrew and Alex chilled out with Justin trying to get at his laptop. LOL

Another fun day in the mountains! Get ready to see what Jason, the boys and I did on the 5th day! No, I didn't skip a day - day 4 the buys played a real game of golf ;) I do have some pics to share from day 4. Stay tuned!

Tennessee - Day 2

Note: If you missed the pictures from our first day, click here :)

Our second day started out great! I kept to my mornings as much as I could (no, I slept in aka didn't get up at 530am lol), so I went on a walk with the little guys, Pat, Terrie (Jason's aunt and uncle), Jason, and Dave. It was a shorter walk, but that mountain air is a bit different! Wow. I was out of breath after 30 minutes! So sad. LOL After getting that out of the way, Dave showed us the playground and the boys (including the hubby!) went WILD!

Love this pic! It is rare to grab a picture of Dave with the kids - he's always taking the pictures! Alex loved wandering all over the playground area with him.

Andrew loved the picnic/grilling area! He loved that he could find a million acorns and HUGE carpenter ants everywhere he stepped. Such a cutie!

Andrew loved that he could even see a squirrel whenever he wanted to. Our neighborhood is still new so we don't really have many trees...so squirrels are a rare sight!

Burger parade! here comes Pat with the burgers with Jason and Andrew as his assistants! :)

Time to eat some yummy burgers!!

Tennessee Vacation to be continued - stay tuned!

Tennessee - Day 1

Last week, we went on a vacation to Tennessee and had a great time! Jason's family had grabbed a few condos and they were really great. We had our own place - which with 2 little one in need of naps and a decent bedtime - it was fantastic. I took a few pics while in the car, of course. It wasn't too bad of a drive, but nap time was definitely taken out for the day - we arrived sometime mid-afternoon, I think.

 Leaving town!

Stopping for lunch somewhere north of Chattanooga :)

 Checkin' out the place

It took me about 5 time to get a 1/2 decent picture of these two monkeys by the fireplace. LOL This was the best one. And, it's only in B&W b/c some people wouldn't stop moving around. Too funny! :)

After getting settled in, Ma, Terrie, and I did some catching up while the big boys and the little boys played some basketball. Thanks, Dave, for grabbing the next 2 sets of pictures!

Getting ready to walk down to the rec center :)

Fun!!

So that was our first day in Tennessee. Pretty much just getting settled in and checking out the resort.

Stay tuned day 2 is coming up! :)

Update: We're back! LOTS of pictures coming up from our vacay in TN! Stayed tuned :)

2 More Projects Done!

I really do live this to do list board. It is really making things happen, people! I got two more projects done yesterday. The first one I should have gotten done months ago...I had ALL of the supplies. So what in the world? I must have been too busy pinnin' it like it's hot.

So, the first project is a Circle Zip Pouch (Erin made it to hold her earbuds; I made this to hold my Rosary). It is so stinkin' cute! I want to make some more... I need more zippers. ;)

Getting ready to make some magic! I say that because this was my first project working with zippers.

SO PRETTY!

The second one made my car feel more organized. I think I'm going to do this for Jason, too. I just grabbed another accordion file from the Target $1 bins and put it to good use.

Ew! So messy before . But now I have a LOT of room in that little spot.

Another Project Done

Thanks to my nifty idea of actually doing the cool things found on Pinterest, I got another thing done today!

I found this cute idea a while back and loved it. Today, I finally got around to doing it. This was inspired by this link :)

I found my pieces in the candle aisle at Target for $7 each.

Target Home Pillar Candle Holder and Pillar Plate

All I did was hot glue them together...

Not a pretty glue job, but no one will see that part.

Once it was all dry and stuck together perfectly, this new display plate found it's home by my kitchen sink.

SO PRETTY!

Are you getting any projects done this week? Please share!

Pinterest To Do List

I'm so tired of finding all these amazing ideas and NOT doing any of them. The recipes I can get to because, well, we need to eat, right? But, the other fun stuff, you know. When am I really going to get that in-ground trampoline done or go on a wild and crazy shopping spree for a great new wardrobe?

So, to help with this, I've made a "To Do List" board to start knocking these great ideas off this list. And, YAY ME! I got one done today. And, it took about 5 minutes to get it together really. Have I mentioned my love for the drill?

I found this charging station idea on TT&J (love her!):

And while I was at Target grabbing my lost items from the grocery list... How did I forget some of these things?! I grabbed my utensil bucket!

Just under $10 :)

So off to the garage to grab the drill - mwuhaha! I love that thing. I feel rather invincible with it. Anyway, I drilled 2 holes for my kindle and phone cords. One is off in the back and one off to the side as far as I could without hitting the long separator piece.

After clearing off my counters and getting a tad bit more organized in there (What is with kitchens getting so messy constantly?!), I found our new charging station a home. Now there is a place for all these things. No more looking for chargers, no more smashing them with jars that fall from the top shelf. What? Oh, I didn't tell you that story, huh? Yeah, I killed Jason's phone...but Verizon is awesome and I went in and out of there in under 10 minutes with a new phone :) Stinking salsa jar on the top shelf...

Anyway, 1 fabulous project done! 7 more on the list for May :) By the way, if you love this idea, please make sure to link/pin the ORIGINAL IDEA - not mine. Also, as this is a "to do list" board, this pin is gone - crossed off, so to speak.

Now, what should I get done next???

First Year of Preschool Done!

WOW. I did not realize that a whole year would bring such a HUGE change. Andrew is such a big boy now.

Here he is on his FIRST day of school:

So little (started 2 weeks before he turned 2), still a bit shy, wore a size 6 shoe, wore 12-18 month size clothes, and didn't really talk a whole lot. And just to clarify again...no, I did not pick the purple bag. That is his school's color.

And here he is on his last full day of school:

Now he's a little stud. Not shy at all... Wears a size 7 shoe and size 3T clothes. May talk more than me - shocker, I know. Um, can I just say...WOW!

He had his end of the school year party today at Chick-Fil-A. It was so much fun and pretty cool to see him with his classmates and teachers (a bit different than at a school party). He is such a big kid! He acts older and everything. I had been telling him every time we go to CFA that I would get the door to the playroom. I figured it was heavy. Um, no. He can totally do it. AND! He goes down the slide, too. He never goes when we go. Even when other kids are in there. Hmm, peer pressure already? Kidding...I hope. It is just amazing.

I got a few pics while we were there, too. Though, some people did not want to get a picture taken...

You can totally tell what he is saying, too...

Picture 1) I don't want a picture
Picture 2) Peas no picture
Picture 3) Fine. Cheese.

LOL

Anyway, he had a wonderful year and now I get to go through his scrapbook the teachers made for each student. It has all of his artwork and pictures that they took. YAY!

Andrew, your Daddy and I are so proud of you! We are so happy you had a great first year of preschool. You have grown up a lot in the past 8 months, but now it is time to slow down for a bit for the summer. Time to grab the water toys!

Happy end of the school year, everyone!
