A Bit Too Big

Back in March, there a new car seat recommendation was released:

"Children should ride rear-facing to age 2, use a booster until at least age 8." (via)

I never switched Andrew back to rear-facing, though I do know some parents who did. Ok, if Andrew were a tiny kid then, maybe, but he's just a tad too large now...don't you think?

Honestly, I do not know of a car seat that will hold kids who are older than 15 months in a rear-facing manner. And, if there is one, it always worried me that I could not see my child when they were that way. No mirror worked for the rear-facing seats that allowed me to see him. I tried every one out there. Plus, if you made a big deal out of turning the car seat around like we did, what in the world would you do to get them to be happy going back to being a baby? And where are those long legs going to go? Isn't that going to be a tad uncomfortable during even a 10 minute car ride??? Just sayin'.

Anyhoo. I though Andrew getting into Alex's car seat was pretty funny. And, it made me think of these new recommendations. Again, if you have a smaller 1 year old then keep them safe by all means, but let's be real people. This would not fly with Andrew.

  1. I thought the same thing, up until the past month or so Tre was in the 90th percentile for height and such so he is too long to be backwards and his legs started hanging over the carrier significantly by 10 months lol.
