The recipe I used was from YUM FOOD and FUN FOR KIDS. I found this magazine in my doctor's office one day and thought it was the coolest thing ever. So far, I have only found it at Publix.
Molasses Cookies
Makes approx 5 doz cookies
Chill time: 1 hour
Cook time: 8-10 mins
Note: For a crispier cookie, roll dough out thinner.
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1/3 cup milk
2 cups AP flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Combine butter and sugar in a medium bowl.
3. Mix in molasses, egg, and milk until smooth
4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt and spices.
5. Fold in the dry ingredients.
6. Cover and chill for 1 hour
7. Roll to desired thickness and cut into shapes.
8. Bake 8-10 mins.
These cookies can be decorated for an extra dose of festiveness :) We loved these cookies and I am probably going to have to make more! Enjoy!
